Rules
This campaign will follow the “In The Dark” system- a simplified, genre-agnostic TTRPG based on John Harper’s Forged In The Dark system.
Over time, additional rules may be introduced to add depth, but this will be based upon the discretion and feeling of the group as to how the rules are serving them.
Safety
In order to uphold the safety and wellbeing of the group during play, this campaign will use the “Lines and Veils” system developed by Ron Edward.
In the context of this campaign, the term “handle with care” will be interpreted as avoiding detail or focus on the topic in question, for example by using suggestion/implication instead of direct description (think of the classic example of a movie cutting away to the bedroom curtains when characters get intimate) or by limiting necessary descriptions to “common denominator” interpretations.
Another important feature is the protection of individuals reasons for flagging a line or veil. No-one should be put at risk of outing themselves in order to stay safe. Some ways to protect this are to discourage the sharing of reasons or justification for flagging anything as a general rule, and also through the use of anonymous flagging/messaging tools.
